VIB.AI starts with a strong core of research labs and shared resources in Leuven (campus Gasthuisberg), complemented with a second hub of research labs in Ghent (Science Park, Zwijnaarde), centered around the Ghent-based Data Core.
An expanding research community in Leuven
Our brand new research space on the Leuven health and research campus Gasthuisberg will host the first VIB.AI groups, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where researchers can interact and share resources.
We will soon be hiring junior and senior group leaders to join our budding research Center.
VIB Data Core in Ghent
The VIB Data Core is part of VIB.AI and supports computational research across our institute. This spans from project planning and data acquisition to knowledge generation, and publication and archiving according to FAIR principles. The Data Core is organized into three themes: Data Center (hardware and infrastructure services), Data Management (guidelines, best practices, and platforms to perform Open and FAIR science), and Data Analysis (analysis services for use cases, community building of bioinformaticians, research software developers, training, etc.).
